John Gitonga Mwaniki Ahead of Other Manyatta Parliamentary Seat Contestants in the Latest Opinion Poll

2017 will be John Gitonga Mwaniki’s year if the latest opinion poll by Embu County News is something to go by. In the poll, voters were asked “Who will you vote for as the MP for Manyatta Constituency 2017?” The results of the online opinion poll that mainly targeted Facebook users in Embu County, Mwaniki is leading in popularity. By the time of publishing this news story, Mwaniki was leading in the poll having garnered 75.76% of the cast votes. John Muchiri, the current Member of Parliament for Manyatta, garnered 15.15% of the votes while Kinyua Wa Mugo and Engineer Mbogo RN Corado garnered 4.55% each. It is evidently clear that Embu youths, who are the major Facebook users, are fully behind their fellow youth. Coffee Farmers in Embu County Set to Earn More as their Coffee Attracts Foreign Buyers

Farmers in Embu County are set to fetch higher prices for their crop this year after international coffee buyers from eight countries that process coffee expressed interest in milled coffee from the county. Speaking in the County, a delegation of Thailand, United States, Columbia, Canada, Ukraine, China, Australia and Brazil coffee buyers hailed the high quality of the coffee from Embu County. The delegation assured farmers that their coffee has a ready market. According to the buyers, coffee farmers in Embu County stand to earn a minimum of shs100 from each kilo of their coffee if the deal between the Specialty Coffee Association of America and the Embu County government goes through.   The association intends to purchase the already milled coffer at international prices, process it, package and brand it in their own countries. Embu Supports Insurance Proficiency

Embu County Governor, Martin Nyaga Wambora, has said that Embu County supports insurance proficiency. Speaking today, while hosting the Insurance Regulatory Authority at his office, the governor said that his government is committed to supporting The College of Insurance and the Insurance Regulatory Authority in their mission in the county. Senator Lenny Kivuti Host More than 5,000 Youths at His Residence

Senator Lenny Kiviti hosted more than 5,000 youths from Embu East at his residence in Kanyuambora over the weekend. The youths were ferried to his posh residence where the official launch of his gubernatorial campaign was held. Senator Lenny Kivuti addressing youth at his residence in Kanyuambora Some of the youths, led by the Kyeni delegation leader, John Muriithi, started arriving at the senator’s residence as early as 7 am. While addressing the youths, Kivuti said that he was not aware of any pre-election MoU between the Mbeere and Embu leaders.  He added that county leadership positions should not be shared by leaders on the basis of tribal groupings. John Gitonga Mwaniki- Manyatta MP Aspirant 2017

John Gitonga Mwaniki is perhaps, the most youthful political aspirant in Embu County. Born in 1987 in Rugumu village in Manyatta Constituency, Embu County, this youthful aspirant promises to bring the much needed change in the constituency. But does he have what Manyatta constituents need from a representative in the National Assembly? Mwaniki is the fourth born of Mwaniki Ethanus and Teresia Ruguru. As a child, Gitonga dreamt of becoming a scientist. He went to Nguviu Boys High School before joining the University of Nairobi  where he studied Industrial Chemistry.
