Some of the youths, led by the Kyeni delegation leader, John Muriithi, started arriving at the senator’s residence as early as 7 am. While addressing the youths, Kivuti said that he was not aware of any pre-election MoU between the Mbeere and Embu leaders.

He added that county leadership positions should not be shared by leaders on the basis of tribal groupings. Instead, the senator said that a democratic process should be followed as laid out in the constitution.

The senator also talked about his recent altercation with Cecily Mbarire, the Runyenjes legislator. Kivuti said that he had forgiven Mbarire.

The two legislators are vying for the gubernatorial seat in the county and they recently engaged in a clash that almost resulted in physical blows at a Karurumo fundraiser. The fundraiser was thrown into disarray when their supporters took to shouting over who should take over the gubernatorial seat come next year. Watch the video.

Kivuti and Mbarire scrambled for the microphone publicly while shouting at each other as they try to address the charged crowd.

Meanwhile, the youth delegates at the Senator’s residence where treated to a rice meal and each given money for their fare back home.
