The I.R.A officials are currently in
Embu County to train 120 insurance agents who operate within the county. The Insurance
Regulatory Authority is an agent of the state whose mandate is to regulate,
supervise and develop the Kenyan insurance industry.
Governor Wambora said that his
government is committed to supporting the agency in training, examining and
ensuring that every successful participant is issued with an Executive
Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance.
The course is aimed at increasing
Kenyans’ knowledge about services that are offered by the insurance industry
while enabling them to establish careers by marketing different insurance
policies.
The governor was represented by Dr.
Justin Muturi, an Executive Committee Member for Education at the opening
ceremony of the training. The ceremony was held at the Kenya School of
Government.
Meanwhile, participants who will undergo
the training successfully and earn the Certificate of Insurance will be more confident
and knowledgeable about the insurance industry and its services. This
certification will enable them to focus their studies and also specialize on
the basis of their career goals and ambitions.
