Embu County Public Participation Notice



There will be a public participation forum on budget estimation for the financial year 2017/2018 on January 26, 2017 at the Sub-County Headquarters as follows:

Members of the public are invited by the County Government of Embu including private sectors organizations. 

The notice by the county government invites at least 10 members of the public from every ward to participate in the event. The aim of this event is to ensure accountability, openness and public management in the financial matters of the county as provided for in section 129 of the Public Finance Management Act 2012.

Embu Airstrip to be upgraded into a Commercial Airport Soon

A delegation from The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) and the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) paid a courtesy call on Embu Governor, Martin Wambora, earlier today. The delegation was in the county exploring the possibility of upgrading Embu Airstrip into a Commercial Airport. Governor Martin Wambora hosting KAA and KCAA officials In August last year, Wambora brought Embu County into the limelight when he announced that the county was exploring the possibility of upgrading the airstrip into a Commercial Airstrip that would start hosting commercial airlines. The governor noted that the Ministry of transport was inspecting the airstrip and would give a go ahead after the inspection. Coffee Farmers in Embu County Set to Earn More as their Coffee Attracts Foreign Buyers

Farmers in Embu County are set to fetch higher prices for their crop this year after international coffee buyers from eight countries that process coffee expressed interest in milled coffee from the county. Speaking in the County, a delegation of Thailand, United States, Columbia, Canada, Ukraine, China, Australia and Brazil coffee buyers hailed the high quality of the coffee from Embu County. The delegation assured farmers that their coffee has a ready market. According to the buyers, coffee farmers in Embu County stand to earn a minimum of shs100 from each kilo of their coffee if the deal between the Specialty Coffee Association of America and the Embu County government goes through.   The association intends to purchase the already milled coffer at international prices, process it, package and brand it in their own countries.
